Applesauce-Spice Cupcakes [bonus msc]

Photobucket
These were made along with the Sweet Potato Cupcakes for the Kiwanis Family Thanksgiving dinner that were made to us by the Berkeley Kiwanians. All we had to do was bring appetizers and drinks, but being me, I asked for permission to bring desserts.

Turkey, Stuffing, and mac 'n cheese was my dinner. Although dinner was amazing, I think I stuffed myself with the appetizers of various things - chips, carrot sticks, etc. It was super delicious and super fun to be able to hang out with the Kiwanians. I think I spent a lot of my time playing Jenga with one of the Kiwanians. I remember during Fall Training Conference, I had gone downstairs where the advisors social was and they were playing Jenga - the intense version. Apparently they are very serious about their Jenga!

Onto these cupcakes, I feel like they were pretty good although pretty muffin like again. I feel like many of Martha Stewarts cupcakes are actually muffins in disguise. The cream cheese frosting was good, but it had not set in time for the dinner so I used it as a glaze. Perhaps they would be better if I had give sometime to rest and cool in the fridge.

This recipe was from the Martha Stewart Cupcakes book - page 55.

Raised Waffles with Warm Brown Sugar Bananas and Pear Cranberry Muffins [sms]

Photobucket
This week's SMS, Raised Waffles with Warm Brown Sugar Bananas, was chosen Lauren of Fried Pickles and Ice Cream. And from two weeks ago, Pear Cranberry Muffins with Gingersnap Crumble, was chosen Jennifer of Maple N’ Cornbread.

Sorry for the lack of pictures. I was trying to take pictures during my brunch. I had a couple of my closest friends over for a mini potluck brunch. It was fun and yummy!

Sweet Potato Cupcakes [msc]

Photobucket
These cupcakes are super late, SO SORRY!
BUTTTTTTT
WOW, this month has just been busy busy.

First, there was FTC also known as Fall Training Conference. I was the organizer of the event, so it was pretty busy before that event as well. 500 people in the middle of nowhere. Pretty much.

And they even made me an apron with everyone's [well not EVERYONE] signatures. I was so sweet of them.

The weekend after, I was down in San Diego for a masquerade ball.

On the boat with Josh, Karen, and Dmitriy!

So finally this weekend, I got to making these cupcakes. I had gone to a Kiwanis Family Thanksgiving dinner. Such good food. Turkey, stuffing, mac 'n cheese, just good food.

I brought the sweet potato cupcakes to that dinner and they were a huge hit...except for the fact everyone was super full from the dinner!

The recipe for this month's Cupcake Club is found on pages 243 of Martha Stewart's Cupcake book. Thanks to Karen of Karen's Cookies, Cakes & More for choosing this.

Backed up!

I swear. 2 weekends in a row of craziness means that I dont get to bake very much. I have yet to bake my SMS for 2 weeks and I have not started on the MSCC cupcakes yet, but I will! I'll get back into the groove this week! I'll have the cupcake post up probably by the middle of this week, and next week's SMS is definitely getting done because I'm having a breakfast party and I'll be making them!

But I had recently made these cookies for Secret Baker. These were amazing cookies. I really enjoyed the peanut butter chocolate mixture in it.

November Baking GALS

For this month's Baking GALS, I had decided to bake by myself instead of with Circle K since its been a crazy couple of weeks doing so. In addition, they needed to be sent out by the 14th and last weekend was my crazyyyyy fun FTC weekend and this weekend, well it would be too late. But this weekend is masquerade ball.

So Vetern's Day, day off of class, I decided to take my time and start baking. In the morning, I trekked the mile or so to go and shop at safeway. This was my change to try and bake all day and see if that was possible. I think I started baking around 12pm and didnt finish until about 6pm the same day. Even while baking, I think I may have tried to fall asleep since I was so tired of everything.

So here are the pictures and recipes that I used to bake some of the various yummy things for the soldiers!

No SMS this week [sms]

Sorry guys, no SMS from me this week. I'll probably make these muffins this next week, but I just havent had the time.

I was baking 500 cookies, and then I had burned myself.

In addition, my super stressing event has finally come to be! I'll post pictures next week. But yes, it's all done, but this last week was espeically bad because of the random switches and the random stuff that needed to get done. It's quite stressful, but I've learned quite a lot from this.

I basically just woke up and got back from it all, so I had absolutely not TIME to bake. I'll probably make it sometime this week though!

Sweet Almond Bread Pudding with Raspberry Sauce [sms]

Photobucket
This week's SMS, Sweet Almond Bread Pudding with Raspberry Sauce, was chosen Candace of Candy Girl.

So I've been super busy recently. First off, school - like always. Second off, my event, the big Circle K one is coming up - which therefore means that I have been spending almost all my time outside of school doing that.

This bread pudding I made at the same time during the fun baking party I had with my friends. After decorating, we ate bread pudding! It was super yummy!

Photobucket

I added ice cream and caramel sauce on top since I didn't have Raspberry Sauce. It was good regardless. Totally forgot about the sugar and the almonds on top! But ice cream covered it all haha.

Photobucket

Made half the recipe in 4 ramekins. It was fun and yummy!

Recipe for the pudding here! Make sure to check out the rest of the SMS bakers on the blogroll.
